Could you send a snip of your items after you have the scene with the teacher? To access your Items, you may press the option button. There should be the diploma you got from the school.
Sorry for the delay. I don't have a snippet cause I deleted the save and restarted but yes I had the diploma and i remember it being in my inventory and trying to work out what to do with it.
