Seems like something is bugged,but i tried every option and cant use key absolutely,when i reach top floor there is hint to find key in bookshelf,but even with key happens that there is no option to unlock door
You cannot access the doggie door without tripping an alarm without the key. There is an ending that can only be accessed this way and one other way
