How do you know there isn't a gargoyle touching the other one from the top?
Look at their red eyes - they're pointing in the direction where the other gargoyle is supposed to be.
ok that could be a sometimes kind of condition but I did notice that monsters that aren't a gargoyle and have a higher level that the gargoyle is looking at isn't touching it but ones with a lower level are touching it
