I recognize the name.... But I can't put my finger on where exactly from...
I know it's norse, the name is a dead giveaway.
But beyond that.... I am unsure.

Shouldn't Håkon be spelled with two a's in the older variant? Like Haakon?
Or is that danish in origion?

Nitpicking aside....

The concept of the game is really good. And the artwork is nice.

I DO wish there was a choice to try everything in his power to seek out his lover tho, even if it meant going back to his father to deceive him, or find some other way.

I cannot imagine why you'd ever want to move on after loosing someone you loved and still love.

Perhaps I am more a tragic romantic than anything, but for all that I'd rather not die, I still would refuse to let go and move on.
However painful, there is something beautiful about a love that is eternal, no matter what.

But regardless of what happens, I do hope this game will become longer.

It feels like a good start to what might someday become a great game.

Hi Raven,

Thanks for taking time to review. Hakon is a main character in 'Pursuers of mythic truth', where it is discussed that he is in fact, a Valravn from Denmark. You can play it here if you're interested https://seraten04.itch.io/pursuers-of-mythic-truth (if you wanted to know more about what happens after 'Inside the Box' - then this might be of interest, though it is only 11k - which main not be the 'full-game' experience you've mentioned in the 'Do you like Sweets' feedback).

It is revealed more in 'Pursuers', but Hakon physically 'cannot' enter the Neverplace, it's revealed that as he is a messenger and as such he is physically unable to go there.

As for his name, Hakon has chosen to drop the traditional spelling himself since his move to the UK - though the story is not complete, it will be explained as to why he has chosen to do this.

The Folklore VN series is delivered in a variety of size and formats to cater for a variety of audiences- many of whom have enjoyed the duration of the game - so whilst this game will receive a voice acting addition, it will not be lengthed, but this is not the end of the story of Hakon, Suraj and the Neverplace :)

Ah, I see.

...wouldn't he have changed it to a british name entirely instead tho?
If he wanted to sound more british I mean.

It's sad that it won't be longer, because it felt very much like a prologue, not a full game.

But perhaps it's longer if I take the other path. lol
