IT LOOKS GREAT! (somehow the mac version isn't working for me 😭)

right click on SUBSTITUTE.app, open package contents, open contents, right click on the MacOS folder, go to services and click New terminal at folder, and then type in "chmod +x SUBTERBALDI" and then press enter and then open SUBSTITUTE.app

is it supposed to say "No such file or directory" on terminal?

oh yeah right, i meant to say "chmod u+x SUBTERBALDI" not +x

it didnt work

What version of macOS were you on at this point in time? If you were past macOS 14 then they changed how to open Apps that it doesn't consider signed properly

It's now Double click on (SUBTERBALDI).

When the pop-up warning appears saying Apple cannot verify the app, click Done.

Then goto Settings ==> Privacy & Security and then scroll down to the bottom of Privacy & Security.

You should see a text block stating the app was blocked. Click the Open Anyway button right next to it.

It should be somewhat straight forward from this point onwards, your Mac will ask for your password several times during this.

If your account isn't an administrator then you'll need to contact your administrator to put their password in

oh thanks

1. right click the app and click "show package contents"

2. navigate as follows: Contents>MacOS

3. you'll see a file called "SUBTERBALDI"

4. Open mac terminal and type "chmod +x "

5. drag the SUBTERBALDI file into the terminal window. It should automatically type out the full directory for you. (IMPORTANT!! Make sure there's a space between the directory and "+x"

6. Press enter in the terminal window then close out of terminal

If you did everything correctly the icon for the SUBTERBALDI file should have changed from the default document icon to one that says "exec"

7. go back to the app called "Substitute" and then double click it. It may not work the first time so right click it or control+left click it and press "open"

God damn it apple
