We emailed our itch.io players directly with instructions on finding their missing keys and have followed up with direct compensation for those who reported the instructions did not work as planned. In case you missed us, please check the inbox of the email address connected to your itch.io purchase for any communications from support@alterstaff.io last week.

We also eliminated the token system mainly due to player dissatisfaction. We learned our diverse community has different reasons for disliking tokens and API keys alike so we worked to eliminate both! Per that announcement, we also emailed players who bought the game multiple times to communicate compensation steps. Please check your inbox once more in case we missed you, or if a different email address was connected to your purchase.

We were unable to immediately send Steam keys to players per itch and Steam limitations on this matter. We know that some players received their keys in their itch Downloads automatically while others did not, to which we resumed troubleshooting and compensating via email. Our itch playerbase also received at least two emails communicating paths toward their keys, including an email with standard troubleshooting that worked for some while others we supported directly as needed.

We understand the frustration with the Steam-itch versions not syncing immediately. We announced this delay one day before the Early Access launch on Steam due to limitations on our end. Our team also cited stability reasons for the reason behind the delay, and will work to sync both versions together moving forward.

If you have additional concerns other than what you already emailed itch about, kindly share them in your follow-up email to them. They will help look into any missing components while mediating the conversation between us and you.
