Eh, I have easily seen projects far better than this. There are several things that easily contribute to this being a rather massive disappointment. Just to name a few examples:
- Scale of things is all wrong. You either got scale of maps completely messed up or scale of cars and characters.
- You could have had used original assets. They are all more or less accessible in their original forms. Also, you aren't even making an active attempt at staying close to original look of things, outside of ported assets, pick up UI thingy and font.
- Choosing to make the cannon ball go after someone like an angry dog just because you can.. Seriously? That takes away all of the fun and strategy from using it.
- New shield effects are.. Something. And by that, I mean they just don't work for this game.
I suppose this is impressive, but I don't think I am gonna be waiting for more. Either someone other than you needs to pick this up or someone else should get to making a more faithful recreation of this game.
