Something I noticed about this game is how the rose changes colors. The first time you enter the Black Rose, the rose is red; red roses stand for romance and passion. It's clear that whoever our main character is meeting has a passionate, romantic relationship with them. The second, third, and fourth loops, the rose is yellow; yellow roses are a way to say "remember me." It seems that the main character and whoever they're meeting have grown distant, and the mistress is calling out to them to come back. At the last loop, the rose is black; black roses represent mourning and death. Our main character's spouse has found out he's been cheating and divorces him, and the love the mistress felt for our protagonist is gone. Both of his relationships are dead, and now he's mourning the failure of his romantic relationships; Both have been lost, and now he's alone.
