I found Ezmore’s Crystals to be a funny and pretty well-made game. The plot and dialogue stood out to me a lot. I liked how the world was a mix of Lego and 64-bit poly shapes, and how that was basically the entire plot. Unfortunately, some parts of the game were not as great, like how some quests dead-end and leave you wandering aimlessly. The NPC interactions are also a bit buggy, as I kept just pushing people when I tried to talk to them, and I repeatedly ended up talking to people when I’m just trying to travel. I liked how the final area was literally just some kid’s bedroom, which reminds me of the semifinal scene of The Lego Movie. I liked the character voices, the little easter eggs, and the jokes throughout the game, and the final boss is hilarious. I did find Ezmorelda’s Tower to be a little bit unfair, as sometimes enemies that fire homing shots would just appear far away, so you would have to tank damage just to get to them, which lowers your health and mana for the boss. To improve this game, I would put stats next to the items in the shop, as I bought stuff without knowing what it does, and I would string the quests together a little tidier, without random gaps in the early game. Overall, I liked the game, even if it is a little bit buggy and confusing sometimes, and I would rate this game 7 out of 10.
