Could you maybe help me understand the difference and purpose of overlapping and not overlapping?

Overlapping UVs mean the same space on a texture will be used for multiple parts of a model, useful for using very blocked out colours. non-overlapping UVs are used if you want precise colours and textures on specific parts without worrying about others. Hope I could help!
