I was taken in by the beautifully drawn characters, but disappointed when they turned out to be dragons, zombies and vampires. It bears no relation to the way the characters look and play their roles. Also, the visual characters are mere paper cutouts; they don't do anything. There's no visible action in the story. I understand that this was/is a demo for a larger project, but you should have said that before you asked to be paid for it. I would not have paid for a demo as incomplete as this.
