I am having a issue where when i select the game, it wont start, but it deselects the folder window, so it tries to start. I am using a surface 3 64 bits with windows 10.

Developer

Hey and sorry for the problems. Could you post the full system specs, especially graphics chip, processor and RAM? Thanks. :)

Hey, I checked out the specs and here they are:

4GB RAM (128GB Storage)

Intel Quad Core Atom Processor

Runs on Windows 10

I couldn't find anything about a graphics card :(

Developer

Yeah, there is some problem with integrated graphic chips (laptops, tablets). Still researching it, but I haven't that much hope. So sorry :(

Oh Ok, btw, will you release an apple version for this game

Developer

Technically, it's probably possible, but I don't own a device so likely/sadly no. :(

I've probably found a solution together with one of the Orcish Inn players. Can you please try to change the graphics settings of your computer so Orcish Inn is started as a "High-performance NVIDIA processor"? Here is more information on how to do that:

http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2615/%7E/how-do-i-customize-optimus-profiles-and-settings

Please let me know if it worked!

Steven this only applies to those who have a NVIDIA graphics card---I am looking to see if there is anything I can find alongside some tech savvy friends to combat this issue for those of us with Intel cards. Still supporting the game despite the fact I can't play :D

Isn't there something similar in place to tell the Intel graphics drivers to use the graphics chip or gpu instead of the cpu? I'm not familiar with Intel graphics, but you could have a look at this:

https://support.serato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202305784-Changing-graphics-card-settings-to-use-your-dedicated-GPU-on-a-Windows-computer-

Ah thanks for the link but no luck here either really---at least Steam finally said preparing to launch which is new :)

Developer

No further error or info message?

No :'( I can't even find a crash log.

Developer

Hmpf... if I find something out, I let you know! Sorry... :(

I had the same problem - I used to be able to load it but now it's stopped working

However I did get one error log - I am not sure if was the error stopping the boot up but here it is:

UPDATE:

Orcish Inn did boot when I reinstalled it and left the file in it's compressed state

However it used to boot uncompressed

UPDATE 2:

Orcish Inn booted uncompressed when I removed the "_0" from the end of the save file which allowed Orcish to boot, however it did delete my progress

It looks like your savegame file got corrupted. Did the game crash or did you close it (while it saved)? If you want you can send me the savegame file which isn't working at info@stevencolling.com so I can have a look, but it's likely I won't be able to repair/fix it. Big, big sorry! :(

I made multiple new saves and I think the game struggles when I get alot of debuffs. The more I had the slower it ran until it was unplayable and eventually didn't start (The game never fully crashed, it just stoped starting).

Although this is a strong motivator to keep tabs on my stamina and hunger :)

Also great game I really enjoy it and I can't wait until it's released

Developer

Sorry for the problems and wish you the best! :)
