I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I can't get past Bodger's first quest. I go into Lightwood and walk all around, but I don't find any creatures to fight. I end up at a bridge with a log blocking the path (don't know why I can't simply step over it), but no creatures to fight. I did save Eugene and that didn't trigger anything else. I also went and found Greg's grandfather's tomb, and completed that quest. Even went and "fell" for mugger's trap. Killed the rats at the Mayor's house. Stayed at the Inn a couple times too. Still nothing in Lightwood to fight though. Tried it on the web browser version and the downloadable PC version. Can't seem to figure this out and the walkthrough doesn't help me here. I also tried starting a new game multiple times, still won't work. Here's a video of me starting a new game and playing it. As you can see, it simply doesn't work.
I found a video on YouTube of a Russian guy playing the game too, and it shows random encounters appearing like in Final Fantasy games (no enemy shown on the map, but you go into battle randomly). This does not happen on my version of the game though. I don't get any random battles for some reason. What's going on? I literally can't do anything else in the game right now and I REALLY want to play it through! I LOVE Epic NPC Man and all of the VLDL content! Please help!
