To be fair, Lion is my boo and I do tend to write with a bias of him as the RO! š I appreciate when others point that out, and I have no problem correcting it. Thank you!
āevery man should be masculine and every woman should be feminineā is not an objective fact. There are scales to how āāmasculine or āfeminineā anyone is. Not that it matters because these gender roles are socially constructed so technically masculine and feminine donāt technically objectively exist. I have a friend who lights candles every time he takes a bath. Is he not masculine then? If he cries a lot but he hunts, does that mean heās āfeminineā. Respectfully, this comment is beyond ignorant. āFeminineā and āmasculineā traits are in your mind and there is no objective measure that makes someone definitively masculine or feminine. This is ridiculous. Itās not quantifiable. Not that masculinity or femininity even defines the worth of a person or every person has to be one or the other. My suggestion is to no longer be on itch.io and try to go back to the 1950ās.
I disagree while I get you pov but let me explain some Masculinity traits
Strength (both physical and mental), Assertivness, Independence, Rationality (look at the number difference between male and female politicians), Protectiveness.
some Femininity
Nurturance, Empathy (heavy on empathy), Expressiveness, Collaboration (valuating relationships), Sensitivity (HEAVY on this)
and you saying go back to 1950 I wish so? this "woke" agenda destroyed a lot of families
Iām not even going to give that statement the value of a response. This is so ridiculous that Iām not going to engage in a discussion anymore. This story isnāt for you. Please stop harassing the itch.io community with your need to fit everyone into these boxes. Thank you. A man can be sensitive and a woman can be rational. That doesnāt make them not a man or not a woman.
I'm a non-binary person and to me it seems like an insecurity in how you view your masculinity AND sexuality if you cannot hold hands with a man.. Also likening holding hands with a man to being a helpless girl is really just not cool :/ Personally I'm not completely sure if that commenter is correct and i personally believe that you should not take their advice. You can also hold hands with someone and not view them as a partner -
I appreciate the support and I happen to agree with you! But I also donāt mind making a change.
That being said, choosing to not take the hand of the person whoās navigated the dark, narrow stairwell countless times while you have no idea where youāre going and canāt see, has a high likelihood of you falling on your face. Just saying. ;)
