This game feels pretty good!  I had a lot of fun with it and I really like how satisfying the ship clicking together is.  The pieces glowing as you get near, the bit of magnetic pull, and the sound effect is really nice.  Since that's the main mechanic of the game I'm really glad its got some good feedback.  I really like how the camera zooms out as well as you get bigger, and different parts giving you more movement control in different directors or additional weapons is awesome.  This is a well scoped and executed jam idea with a cool take on the theme!

One piece of feedback I have is I wish there was a pause screen.  I hit escape to try and pause and write in my notepad and it took me back into the main menu.  Not a big problem, I had fun playing again!

Awesome job!

Edit: The music is super chill too.   I left your main menu open while writing this and then forgot to close it until a few minutes after because I was enjoying the beat!

Thanks for playing my game and leaving such detailed feedback. I'll take note on the lack of a pause screen for future projects.

As you have surmised, the modular linkup system is where most of my time went throughout this jam, constantly iterating and tweaking until it felt good. So its really great to see it being appreciated.

As an interesting fact, the parts glowing when you get near them and not just when connected together was originally a bug. But since it added to the feel I kept it in.

As for the music, all I can say is I agree. I spent about an hour filtering through various royalty free tracks none feeling right for me. Then I found this one over on Soundcloud by Seth_Makes_Sounds and it just clicked. The best part is how the track evolves as it goes on, taking on a really chill and chipper feel as you get near the victory line. This was not timed on purpose but works so well.
