Hello everyone.

We thank you all for your feedback about the "Regarding Rights and Privileges" part of the rules.
We decided to add some further explanations.

* Winners selected for the publishing on Nintendo Switch(TM) will be required to sign an exclusive publishing contract with KADOKAWA (including the ability to possibly expand the IP to other media formats (such as comics, novelization, etc.)) that gives permission to produce any reproductions, translations, and perform any other task needed to carry out publishing activities. This also includes granting said permissions to third parties as needed in the carrying out of those duties.

* The publishing contract will conform to industry standards, including clauses relating to revenue sharing, payment handling, and other relevant concerns.

 * The IP rights are retained as property by the developer, and KADOKAWA will be unable to use them without express permission from the developer.

Please let us know if you have any further questions about it, we will be happy to answer!

absolutely! So, the developer would keep the property of their game,  designs, story, and characters. fantastic.
Legalese is always an issue, and i have 3 questions:

-If KADOKAWA wanted to expand the IP to other media formats, comics, movies and whatnot, as expressed in the first paragraph, would KADOKAWA still require the developers consent and approval? If not, is it stated that the dev is giving full subsidiary rights?
-Do <industry standards> have other caveats, like a right to retain a sequel, a request for more work or projects, or perpetual exclusive publishing rights of all material?

-In the case of other media made by the developer, for example, a comic or a remix tape of the game music to be distributed freely trough social media,  would that clash with the exclusive publishing contract?

Thank you for your answers!

Hello,

Thank you for your questions! We have just created a new post to explain the steps following winning the contest.

Now, to answer to your questions:

- Yes, KADOKAWA will need the consent and approval of the developers, and a new contract for these new contents would need to be issued.

- The contract details will be negotiated between the developer and KADOKAWA.

- Same answer, the details will need to be negotiated between the developer and KADOKAWA on this particular cases.

Thank you again for asking, we hope that these answers are helpful!
