Sorry, I'm asking after I've finished the video, but I'd like to know if you're okay with me using your album in my video? I am making a set of videos on the music in the queer games bundle, and I use 10 to 20 second bits to showcase this album. If you don't want the album shown or dislike the video, let me know so I can take it down. I am a small creator, so I don't think too many people would see it, but I figure I should ask if I can use your songs in the video nonetheless.
I feel like this falls under fair use, so I'm ok with this video existing, but I do appreciate you asking.
I have two comments:
-You mention a few times that this album doesn't feel like techno to you; I recommend listening to Autechre's first two albums, which are classified as ambient techno. It's a weird genre name, because the music often isn't really ambient or techno depending on how you classify either of those things, but that's what it's called.
-The songs on this album [Queer] are too long; the album was mostly recorded with Garageband [yes, seriously], and so what you hear is mostly live performances with some post-processing. Hi-Fi Transidelica used an even more restrictive recording setup, but I think the performances on that album are better because I spent more time arranging the sequences [but they're still too long].
Interested to see the other Queer Games Bundle music videos as they come out.
Yeah one thing I totally forgot was that it was classified "low tempo techno" and then I ramble on about it being slower than I expected so that's just me being silly lol. I also am not too into the techno scene so I'm not the most familiar with it. The main artists I have heard are from like maybe rove ranger and cltx so I prob associated the sound with that even though I tried not to. Sorry if certain bits came across like I was bashing your album the intention was just to showcase the music in the bundle. Also the songs being long isn't really an issue I just had to try and pick certain small segments as to not just upload your album entirely and not add anything to it. But it was a very interesting listen nonetheless and I love that you did most of it live. That is so sick.
