I've previously played the Windows version using Wine, but the first time that I downloaded or ran the Linux version was shortly before I posted that comment. I have not yet successfully run the Linux version.
(That said, I did try downloading the newest Windows version as well and trying it in Wine, and that ran much more smoothly than previous versions had.)
