  • Ruhi was a really interesting opening section to a much larger game - it feels like the team had a huge game planned out and cut the submission down to a demo form. While this isn't a bad thing, I was intrigued by the narrative setup by this opening, it made the standalone experience feel a little incomplete. I'd love to see where this project went given more development time, as you have the solid foundation of an intriguing game world. The main characters animation was a delight, I love the little hair flick which bounces as she walks, it was full of character! The alternate sprite once you enter the dungeon was a great surprise, making two well-animated characters was a real achievement. The surface environments were great, but I would have liked to have seen that level of detail and personality carried over into the dungeon design. The puzzles were very straightforward, given more development time I'd love to see an additional level of depth to them, but given that this piece is a demo of the full game I'm sure you have plans to expand the complexity later. The music was good, the title theme being a standout track, but I found house interior music to be a little jarring. The rest of the tracks fit the theme and environment well, and complimented the visual style. I'd love to see where Ruhi goes from here, and I'd encourage you to work further on the solid foundations you've developed for this jam!
