Novice

Please explain why your team qualifies for the category you chose.
solo team, 3 months game developer experience

How does your game relate to the theme?
The game is loosely based on the Pied Piper of Hamelin. The player shoots notes at monsters to reduce their "charm resistance". Once charm resistance is depleted, players can go into a passive mode and play their flute to finish charming the monsters. Charmed monsters disappear and boost the player's stats.

The original idea was to have the charmed monsters become summonable entities that would fight on your behalf but this idea was too ambitious for my experience level and the time allotted.

Good game, but I think, that it can be much better if you add background music and sounds ( hit on enemy, charming and hit on player ). You used background from chess.com?

for a newb- this is an actually very GOOOOOOD game. sure, it needs a bit of polish n stuff- but it's a very great start. I can see being a great dev in the future, so don't lose hope.

Anyway, here's the rating:

Art: 8.5/10. best thing about the game. great choice of artstyle.

Music: N/A. Theres no music, or i don't hear music.

Code and Implementation: rough around the edges, but good for 3 days.

I can see your ambitious ideas- but for your next jam, ALWAYS keep down your game. Trust mem it saved me a lot. It's okay for this time tho, i don't think the judges will say anything.

Good game mate(?)! keep it up.
