Novice

Please explain why your team qualifies for the category you chose.
My friend and I just started game development and to kick off our journey we decided to make our first game with this Game Jam! My friend who did all of the coding had never used a coding engine until three days ago. On the other hand, I did all of the art, in which I have light experience with just simple pixel animation. But, together I think we made a pretty solid product!

How does your game relate to the theme?
The theme of *Charm* comes from the young and handsome prince, Prince Herbal, who sets out to work his charm and impress the Princess by winning a duel! โ€ฆ a duel of 100 men. So can your battle moves win the heart of the princess?

Specify any and all pre-made assets in your submission.
It's already on the itch page!

Feedback?

I would like feedback and will reach out to review it after the jam.

Where can we contact you?

Anything else you would like us to know?
There was a lot of work that wasn't able to be revealed, mostly due to our lack of game developing (throwing my coder under the bus). But we had a lot of fun and our excited to compete!

It's insane to me that your team started with a game engine just a few days ago. My mind is blown. I think you managed to actually tell a story and paint a picture of a world which is awesome to see. I liked the level of polish you had with the animations, the sounds and music too! I think a way to improve it (should you choose to keep developing it), is adding more variety with the enemy spawning, maybe more and more appear every few waves to add to that level of tension. It's still so impressive to me that your team managed this with no prior game engine experience.  Well done!

Interesting game and concept, it's a bit hard tho!! It's kinda frustrating tho to watch the cutscene all over again when you die. Also you should have made a web build so more people could play it!

Thank you! My friend and I just picked up doing all of this a day before the jam even started so we don't know really how to make a web build? and yeah we ran out of time on trying to fix the restart just to go back to where it starts in the arena lol. Thanks for the feedback though!
