  • This game engaged me and convinced to finish it by my own will, it has its own rules and their work fair to me as a player, I wanted to beat it. I liked the level design, that sometimes the game was trying to trick me with false barbwire, sometimes with sneakily placed holes. It puts a challenge on me and that’s why I remember it. However, the idea of playing through the violin shape looks a bit artificial, far-fetched, so I cannot put high rating for a social problem implementation, but this shaped view definitely extends the gameplay and its challenge a player as I mentioned, so originally it’s a solid work.
  • This was a entirely playable game, which proved quite challenging early on. Played with the suggested musical accompaniment, this game was enjoyably atmospheric, with the music, sound effects and visuals all complementing each other. Though not currently saying much about the diversity of experiences had by different people during the First World War, the game could conceivably reference such diversity in various ways, if it were to be further developed.

The Western Front Violin.

We will be showing off the environments where the Pine for the Western Front Violin was able to grow, through mustard gas and roots of barbed wire. With the view of the world actually being shown through the silhouette of a Violin. Showing how music can help transport you to a place as desolate as this.

The ideal experience is also played when listening to Après un rêve, Op 7, No 1, one of the more famous songs the Violin has played, as this was the original intention of the experience, but due to copyright we have had to remove it from the game.

We hope you enjoy playing
