  • The concept has some originality and creativity. Playing as a civilian in a situation beyond their control. The time-travel component adds some incentive for the player but may not be necessary. Survival games are an entire genre on their own and the relaying of the story as inter-generational could still be designed. Time travel is a difficult trope to use well in a historical game - it has been done for example see the Assassin's Creed series. The concept has some consideration for both empathy and diversity - looking at both the British and German perspectives, through the eyes of a child etc but some consideration would have to given to the potential risks of creating a game that the main protagonist is a child and one that 'dies' if they don't complete certain tasks. The presentation is good, less text and more visuals would help - use user journeys, flowcharts, mood boards, photographs to help convey story beats and design over and above just text. There is some potential in the setting and survival games appeal to a niche audience. It is probably a bit risky given the protaganist being a child and that their is a character death to be witnessed.
  • An interesting idea which didn't quite translate into a clear game for me. Some of the mechanics evoked games like This War of Mine (tasks focused on maintenance/sustenance), but I couldn't quite gather a clear sense of the game from the slide deck. A good moment of reflection built in at the end to consider the impact of war and memory.

Which object does your game link to? Please explain the connection.
Cyril McCann Model;

The intended takeaways from this game deals with impact of World War II in daily civilian lives, both in the short-term (daily lives with war and traumatic experiences) and long-term (how the war is dealt in terms of collective memory).

In this sense, the Cyril McCann model serves as a perfect starting point that provides one of the backdrops of this game.
