  • I found this one a bit difficult to follow. I appreciate the principle of a resource-driven card game to represent the process/progress of battle, and I like the idea that the Spitfire is your trump card - a good fit to the prompt. However, it wasn't clear how the game worked and it only seemed to allow me to place a few cards before exiting. There also wasn't much in the way of diversity or empathy here. Technically, a valiant effort in the time; could have used some instructions and a greater sense of story!
  • This concept has some great visuals and looks really interesting to play but unfortunately, it kept crashing anytime I placed a card. It's therefore difficult to tell how creative and original the approach to storytelling around conflict might be. Having had a bit of experience creating card-based games it would have been great to see a paper prototype or if the team could have put forward a pitch deck or documentation. As it stands the scores on empathy and diversity are low because nothing in what was presented in the video or could be played indicated that these were considered sufficient to make it into the final design. The game did consider accessibility and took a relatively novel approach with a view to playability. Would really have liked to play a few turns and get a feel for the game mechanics. If the game wasn’t fully playable supporting the submission with additional materials to convey rules, mechanics, narrative, visuals and/or sound would have helped. It’s an engaging and intriguing concept but how much fun it could be could not be determined.
