That was fun! I could see this selling with a bit of touch ups. I liked being able to adjust my speed freely and I found that everything tied in really well to the environment. It felt like the music was always on beat with what I was doing too. The death animations reminded me of classic Sega games. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks! I think the game could be a lot more polished and balanced if I spent more time on it, but I didn't want to burn myself out in the limited amount of time. And the art style was somewhat inspired by Bonanza Bros, which is my favorite Sega game, so I can see why it reminds you of Sega.

Good game, though a little difficult. usually takes long enough to get to the area where you speed up and obtain the second use of your weapon that I end up dying first. usually because I would need to jump over obstacles close to the end of a platform, but not close enough to the end that my jump can get me to the next one, though I think that may be because the platforms seem to be random in some capacity.

Developer

Thanks! The jumps can be pretty tight due to the randomization as you said, but it's always possible. I agree it's too difficult. I tried to tweak it, but the game still sometimes pulls some nasty jumps.

I also added bats last second, so those might be a little unbalanced since I didn't spend as much time on them compared to everything else.
