Very nice! well done!
Thank you.
You made a very nice grid movement, I like that it gives the game a boardgame feeling.
I read the instructions before I played and yet the first time I tried your game I didn't really understand what was the player until I was already almost dead. Both the black player model and the red enemy model move at the same time.
A bit hard to understand what killed me as the enemy just comes close and then kind of disappears.
I think the game is a cool idea and well done, but I don't associate it with the theme all that much.
Nice game though, congrats on finishing it!
Thank you, that's a great point. I have delayed the first enemy spawning. This way the player is alone first before the first enemy appears
Hey,
If this was your first game, then congrats! Game is working pretty well! Only piece of criticism I have is the enemy path finding which makes you cornered pretty easily when there's more enemies. And while you have health it feels you can't much escape them because they tend to take the shortest route to the target. One suggestion work trying out could be giving player a tad more speed than the enemies. And possibly like in pacman different enemies have different strategies for cornering the player.
Anyway good job! Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the feedback. I think it’s a great idea. I will try to implement it this afternoon.
I made the enemy a little slower than the player and 20% of the time the enemy will not make a move. It is easier to survive them now :)
Once again, thank you for the feedback.
Fun game!
Instructions UI seems to be a bit zoomed in (for me) on WebGL. Other than that, fun to play :)
Thank you for your reply. I am still struggling with UI but I tried to fix the "zoom" problem. Is this version better?
Yes, UI seems to be fixed now!
GG, I read it was your first completed project, which is an achievement !
Few problems, like the unintuitive controls (Arrow up and down should rotate you to face up and down, and the color switch should have be on another key), or the imbedded webGL which havn't the right dimension, so I had to download the standalone game to play.
But overall it's playable so I think it's a real good first game
Thank you for your suggestions and kind words. I fixed the dimensions (I think).
The controls are deliberately made this way. It adds a learning curve to a simple game. The player and enemies will move faster and faster, when you get used to the controls this is the fastest way to move and switch colors.
