My gf/background artist Bernadine Diluzio just made an itch.io account under the name Bdiluzio. Be sure to follow her as well!
Ask and you shall receive!
The art is amazing. The background is richly detailed and of an excellent palette. The watchtower itself, oh my goodness. It's so well contoured! Perfect!
The game itself is fun, although it could definitely use polish. I understand in a 3-hr jam, that isn't usually possible. I hope your team had a good experience and are proud of the results.
Do you have any plans to develop this idea further?
I listed it specifically as an early access title precisely for this reason. Thank you for the feedback!
I'm so glad to hear that Watchtower will be developed further! I'ma follow you to get updates :D
Wonderful Art, Music, and SFX! There were a few bugs in that the enemy death sound did not play when hit with the Ion Cannon. In my opinion the space station being able to smash into enemies is too overpowered I managed to get a score of 11000 just by spinning it around close to the planet. Maybe make it so that the station has a health bar so the primary objective is to shoot instead of crash into the enemy. Since you are trying to protect the planet maybe give it a health bar and punish the player for shooting ion cannon shots at the planet's surface. Still a very impressive and good looking game for 3 hours each.
Btw do Bernadine Diluzio and Shamus O’Connor have itch.io pages? I couldn't find any links in the description.
They have yet to make itcho.io pages. I was the only programmer and the only one with one, so i compiled and published it myself.
also, you were not the first to comment on the difficulty curve or rather lack thereof. For the next version!
Hey this is Bernadine!
I made the background, sound effects, and the narration text on the game's page.
Really excited to participate in my first completed game jam.
Awesome. You did some great work!
Thanks!
