Best of show as far as graphics and theme. Graphics are simple, but here that's a great thing, they're all cohesive and carry the aesthetic well. I also like how small the sprites are, there's something really cute about it.

It fits the theme the best out of the entries as your goal is also your primary obstacle good job!

As far as gameplay goes though, I feel like somethings where spaced a bit too far out and so there was a lot of back tracking to be done. Also once you know that 4 kills you, it makes the puzzles easier because you know to expect to always pick up 3 then grab a white orb, but you did have a couple that tricked me. Really I think it just needed another game mechanic that could have created some more mix-and-match dynamic, but great job given the amount of time!

First off, tThe idea of the game is very instinctive, adding and subtracting is very easy to do especially since you only need to add 1 and subtract 3, and the game mechanics are mostly 3 ( collect black orb, collect white orb, touch dark wall ), therefore, in order to make your game interesting, you'd have to whip out new kinds of challenges and game mechanics the more the player progresses through your game, in order to keep them playing and get better reviews.

For example, you could give the player the ability to open doors if and only if his darkness level is 0

or, you could give the player the ability to destroy a specific kind of wall if his darkness level is 3

the sky's the limit here, the more mechanics you add ( as long as they're not overwhelming together ) the more the player has to think.

Secondly, for the love of whatever you believe in, make an undo button. It would only save on the player time and effort, and puzzle games should not make you suffer.

Don't want to come across as rude, but FYI, everything you mentioned is in the game, just later. Doorways and restart buttons are introduced about 10 levels in.

(Your idea about destroying certain walls with darkness level 3 is genius. Would add a whole new dimension!)
