Considering that we have to use an actual terminal, what about the different terminals text fonts?  Not all people use the same terminals and the same fonts, it could break some things since some terminals work differently than others and using different fonts can break a lot of things like ascii art. Also, about the libraries, in python the curses module is included by default on Linux. Am I allowed to use it?
