Writing: Three endings? I think I always got the same one. (Reads comments on the game page) Oh, so three ways to get the same ending with different things happening before it. That makes sense, but perhaps using phrases like “you should have looked harder” makes it look like I could have picked a different choice, when it wasn’t actually a choice.

Theme: Scary and supernatural, so I guess it fits.

Audio: If the piece of music that’s playing is looping over and over, maybe keep it a bit longer or make sure it both starts and ends with silence, because the transition when it loops sounds glitchy and even in a game that’s meant to be scary, I don’t think it’s likely you left it like that on purpose.

The sound effects work well.

Art: Maybe a bit simple, but it works, and you actually customized the UI. You might want to look at the main menu though: you put the Spooktober logo in the bottom right corner without moving the VN’s title somewhere else, which makes both the title and the words “novel jam” a bit hard to read.

Fun: To be honest, I think I had less fun with this one than most of the VNs from this jam. Probably because of the wording issue I mentioned in the writing section.

What I think worked best: the art, including the customized UI.

What I’d suggest doing better next time: Perhaps make it so that the last sentence shown is unique to each ending, or give the endings different names and mention those names after the endings. That would make it easier to tell that they are in fact different. And maybe make a longer piece of music or one that loops in a nicer way.
