This is a really cool game concept! I love magic combat games, and I could see this becoming an extremely fun roguelike/roguelite game. It sounds like you have more plans for this, and I'm excited to see what you do!

Simply charming!

I rather enjoyed the flow of gameplay, and the blue and red UI was awesome. The character was cute and somehow (don't ask me how) feels relatable. I think with enough TLC this game has a lot of potential :) the music is great, Kevin rarely disappoints! 

Many improvements can be made, but given the code restrictions, I think they're fine in my mind. Would have been nice to see some SFX, character animations or background art to help bring the piece together. It does remind me of VS, which isn't a bad thing and I like the genre but it would be interesting to see the game expand in its own direction (if you keep developing). 

Something I'd have done differently is have a black image over the screen with a soft transparent circle in the center and then it would give the impression that darkness is all around the player. By attaching it to your player, it should follow them around and look authentic without any code. 

Something that you did that I wouldn't have thought to do, that you did well, was the high spawn time on projectiles. It makes the struggle feel more real and I appreciate things being made harder. So well done for that!

Hi and thanks for your feedback!

I'm planning on working on this project for a while,  and I'll change a lot of things (on top of my list, there are smaller changes that you listed, SFX, animations and better art) Right now this actually is VS lite, however I want to keep the upgrade system different from VS (it'll be closer to Hades/Death must die).

As for the idea with black image, you're absolutely right! In post-jam version, I'll add it into the game.

Vampire Survivors Lite XD Impressive looking over your code to see how you crammed all of this into the game: very well done! Unfortunately, you don’t appear to get stronger as you go on, which hinders the feeling of progression. The graphics are simple and clear, and the ominous background track is very fitting. Good work, well done!

I actually planned to add an lvl-up system, hover I run out of time. I plan to add this feature in post-jam version of this game, and I'll probably keep working on this game for a while.
