Brilliant work, especially considering that this is the author's first attempt at Twine. I've read through several interactive narratives that lose its 'defining point' in favour of sounding 'refined' or 'polished.' I appreciate the simplicity of the structure in this text piece. It still creates that personal connection of an overwhelming array of emotions, while retaining some semblance of poetic portrayal.
The depiction of events truly hit close to home, and this interactive fiction has made me realize how ridiculously long it's been since I've last said and heard the words "I love you" to and from my own parents. I always chalked it up to our own little ways of expressing our gratitude for having each other in our lives, but admittedly it's an overused excuse to absolve myself of any feelings of guilt for never properly taking the initiative to say it.
I'm planning a visual overhaul at some point, but this is a minor user interface update aimed at improving the readability of the text colors.
