Recruiting for large collaborative project

Hello! I'm Hexid the dev of Convenient Love and Dreamscape and I'm here to recruit for a game idea I had for the Short Circuit vn jam! I'd like to look for volunteers to help with writing and programming! Hopefully we'll be able to get the full game out by the end of the jam but if not we can always continue after and submit a demo to the jam. Keep in mind this idea is mostly to make something cool and connect with other devs in the process. The main point of the project is to have fun! I hope to implement voice acting later on but I'll expand on that at a later date once the project is well into development and it's more sure.

I want to try to collaborate with a larger group of people in this jam for the first time! The plan so far is to have 4 or 5 separate routes in the game, each written by their own respective writer. (Cough a roundabout way of asking you to make ocs with me and make a game together with them) I felt this was the best way to have each writer have creative agency and have fun doing a kind of experimental project together ◝(ᵔᗜᵔ)◜

I'll be doing all of the art assets for this game (gui, backgrounds, sprites and cgs) so that all the routes look homogenous but you'll have full control over the character and character design you'll be in charge of. (Whether it's designing them yourself or sending me moodboards, instructions etc)

However, please keep in mind that this project will be SFW!

It's intended for a mature audience(17+) so there can be some suggestive or violent content in whatever route you decide to write if you join but nothing too extreme. The game will have a darker tone for the most part and definitely have some horror elements. Second, this project does not allow AI of any kind. If you need help with something just ask and I'm sure we can come to a solution that doesn't resort to any use of AI.

The game will be a dating sim with a gender-neutral protag as in my other works centering around the routes written by each writer taking place in modern day. Nothing is quite set in stone yet but so far :

Game will center around MC getting an offer to start an exclusive beta-test for high-tech bots designed to cure the loneliness epidemic. They install an app to "chat" to what they assume are regular AI bots but get way more than they bargained for. MC will choose their route by doing a quiz at the very beginning of the game that will lock them into the route of a character. The beginning part of each route will be a chat sim that will fade into a normal vn style about half-way through when MC gets to phase 2 of the beta-test.

I'll share more about the world and general plot in dms to avoid putting out too many spoilers but let's just say this seemingly innocent offer to chat to bots to collect data turns out much more sinister than it seems.

Looking for :

3/3 writers found - You'll be handling the general plot and scriptwriting for your route, however you're not required to do any kind of programming for the project. Route length should be 10-20k words (20k at the very most).  Currently me and James Eldritch will be doing one route each but we need 3 more writers to have 5 routes total in the game. The most important part of this project working out is to properly communicate with one another so don't be shy to ask me or other team members for feedback or anything :)

1/2 Ren'py programmers found  - With experience with creating chatsims or adding in voice acting preferably but honestly anyone who wants to help is greatly appreciated. At worst we can all brainstorm on the interface together and I'm sure we'll figure something out.

If you have any questions or would be interested in participating please DM me on discord! My username is     hexid__   ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝⋆˙⟡♡ I'm currently making a google doc and discord server for the project to have more readily available information.
