• I like the theme you chose, I feel you have done a good job trying to replicate the feel of a Naught dog environment the amount of clutter in the scene provides interest where ever you look. The attention to detail in your hero assets is impressive. Good work.
• Assessor: Anthony O Donnell - Art Director @d3t Submission: Miles' Attic 1986 I really enjoyed reading the document and thought process showing the consideration behind all the elements within the scene and how they brought some value to the piece. Overall it's a solid piece of work. Well done for achieving such a high level of detail and polish within the time. There are minor things to pick at such as the wooden floor texture not being in keeping with the style of other textures or the faceted shading on the plug wires. All that is minor stuff to address and clean up. The POM effect on the carpet is too intense. The document was very well presented and held a lot of well written insight into the making of the piece. I do like that the room has had very considered wear in areas that made sense contextually as opposed to having too much or the wear too generic. Nice work.
• Overall composition and mood works really well here. The lighting and colour grading could be improved but a very good submission.
• Submission Title: Miles Attic 1986 Submission Tier: Search for A Star Assessor: Dominic Shaw Environment Artist @ Firesprite Research + Development I would first like to start by saying what a great job you have done on this environment, there is a lot of assets and work here so you should be really proud of yourself to get this amount of work done! There is some really good planning and development in this project and I really like that you are doing assets plans and using trello, with big environments like this, trello can be an absolute life saver. I think you did a good job turning the concept sketch in to the 3D models and finding all the right reference for the props that you needed to make. Creative Art You have done a great job with getting all of these props done for this project and the lighting and mood in the level is really nice. With producing this many assets for one environment, it can be hard to keep motivation so treating each area has their own diorama was a really good call. Technical Art Honestly, I can’t really fault the project, you have a good knowledge of game art workflows, the props are low poly and the environment is running at a good frame rate. I think that you would fit in well into a studio environment and all I can see if keep up the good work. Documentation There was a good breakdown of each step and the only thing that I would have like to see more of in the documentation is more of the props workflows that you used. Final Presentation The final presentation is good and overall this is a really interesting environment and with the amount of props in the scene you can really see that you put the work in. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
• The modeling is excellent, unfortunately the presentation is weak. Lighting is basic, there is no mood it is a shame because the assets look high quality. I invite you to have a look at Stranger thing's interiors or Back to the future.
