like the enemy explosion animations and i thought the upgrade were cool, the sfx are abit loud.

I think your game has great concept. But with more intuitive controls and more balanced upgrade system, it will be more epic.

Hope you can play my game, too! -> https://itch.io/jam/scorejam17/rate/137957

I think it started out real calm. I was exploring and getting used to the controls which became fun and was in level 1 for a cool minute and then suddenly was slingshotted into the next levels all the way up to 21, each level gaining new abilities but super fast. I would have like to earn things at a reasonable pace because I had no idea what was happening. That being said the amount of upgrades stacking and enemies flying through was impressive. Overall cool game and concept :)

Hi there!

Love the artwork and sound for the game, they go together perfectly. I also think that your game fits into the theme very well.

I think that this has the potential to be incredibly fun. The upgrade system is pretty extensive and had some pretty cool choices.

I do agree with Bubble that the controls were incredibly hard to use, I often got lost or would move off in the wrong direction because I was trying to move one direction but because of the way I was facing I moved the wrong way. It might feel a little more controlled if the ship moved in relation to the camera instead of its local position.

Hope the feedback helps, good luck!

Thanks for playing the game :D. I definitely have realized that I may have gotten carried away with the chaos, and if I could, I would definitely tone down the controls a bit and try out changing movement from local to world. Happy that you enjoyed the art and sound, since I was originally pretty worried about its quality. This game has really been a learning experience for me. Anyways, good luck to your submission too!

I love the absolute chaos of this game.

it just goes from 0 enemies relaxing flight through space and then all of a sudden there are a million enemies everywhere, it's great.

One couple of changes I would make is to slow down the ship a bit and give the player the option to turn down the volume.

Otherwise great submission!  The music was really good, reminded me of FTL

Really happy that you enjoyed the utter chaotic gameplay.  In the future, I'll try to remember to save enough time to make an option menu and to really playtest the game(I ran out of time this time D: ). Thank you and good luck to your own submission!

Hello! Here's some feedback on every aspect of your game:

1. The theme

The game really fits the theme nicely and while it is simple, i like the idea of the different upgrades you can choose from.

2. The gameplay

Unfortanetly, there are a few major issues with this game:

a) It is really hard to control. Sometimes i didn't know what was going on, also because of the points below.

b) The camera is too close up. Often i couldn't see anything around me.

c)  The game is way too fast. The upgrades come too fast, i don't have any idea what's going on and there are way too many projectiles.

3. The Sound

The music is really calming and fits the game well, but it is completely covered with the projectile sound. That problem would be solved by making overall less projectiles and also only temporary upgrades though.

4. The graphics

There are some good graphics in this game, but the color scheme kinda ruins them. I would recommend sites like Coolors.co or adobe colors for choosing your scheme next time.

I hope my feedback helped you a bit. If  you have some time, it would be nice if you checked out our submission too. Thanks! :)

Thank you for your feedback!

The controls really are a little chaotic to pick up, and I'll try to remember to keep controls a lot more easy to use in the future.  I really appreciate your comment on the cameras and can see how the projectile could cover up too much of the screen with the current camera position. The game in itself, is pretty fast-paced and chaotic, and maybe a bit too much so which can cause unnecessary confusion and unwanted chaos. I really like your idea with only having sound for temporary upgrades, I personally think that if I had more, then I would be able to do that and just have silent sounds for the permanent upgrades. I'll definitely increase the music/ambience sound since the projectile sounds are really pretty loud when compared to the music. I'll definitely try to first pick a color scheme in the future, I didn't think about it at all when I was creating this game and I'll definitely try it in my next game jam. Good luck to your submission and I'll check it out as soon as I have time to.
