Hi there!

I'm one of the 6 judges for this RPG Maker Game Jam 2025. I was one of the 2 judges assigned to your game, and we have been assigned to rate your games according to each metric highlighted on the game's main jam page, and submit these ratings to the organisers, who will then appropriate what happens with that. Please contact them in the Q&A if you have any further questions about the judging process. The judges will work on different time schedules, so even if I may have finished playing your game, the entire process might not be finished as of yet. Many of these reviews I am posting while still judging.

All that aside, I'd like to share my VOD of me playing your game, which contains up to an hour of gameplay, and some final thoughts at the end! Depending on whether I stopped the VOD early or not, it will also contain many of the thoughts that I say to you below, which may cause repetition. So just be aware of that.

I will also attach a review below this VOD. I will not disclose my ratings for each category as of yet, but those will be revealed in due time. Not all judges are required to post a review or VOD to each game, but many will do so even if it's optional, including myself.

Here's the VOD:

Oh, Meet the Box, how I adore you so.

Thank you developer for making SUCH a cool game that seems so built for me. I adored every last detail of this game. I have no complaints. I love puzzle games, I love escape room games. This one was very polished, graphically and presentationally and programmed incredibly.

I want more, more more!

If there's any complaint, it's just that it's a bit short, but considering within the game jam's constraints, it's also beefy enough?

I mean, I watched other streamers play it and they took a lot longer than me... I completed one playthrough in less than 15 minutes, but it gets the pass game length wise because I don't think many people completed the game as quick as I did?

I love puzzle designing, I think the puzzles in this are so well-thought-out and incredible.

I love the snapshot function. How did you do that? That is just so amazing to me.

CLEARLY one of my favourite games of this jam - and I've played over 100+ entries by now.

I really think this is a standout entry and one of my favourites. Literally no complaints. I would buy a game like this but longer.

Oh! Maybe one complaint... there is a passability error by the door in the second room. You'll see it in my playthrough. But that's easily fixable.

The ideas of using Roman Numerals in the way you did, and the number puzzles, and the chocolate puzzle, and the implementation throughout. And the fact you programmed many of the plugins yourself (maybe all?).

It's truly astounding. I think you should keep making awesome games like this. Looking forward to any game you make in future. Cheers!

This was a cool collection of puzzles! I really like the idea of making an escape room and you did a great job creating the point-and-click mechanics. The snapshot feature was a really useful mechanic to help with remembering what some of the hints were!

Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to solve any of the puzzles though. Maybe if there was a way to ask for a hint and it would just give you a not-as-good ending or something, that might be helpful.

I really liked the concept here though and great work with the custom art and tying everything together!
