Hi there!

I'm one of the 6 judges for this RPG Maker Game Jam 2025. I was one of the 2 judges assigned to your game, and we have been assigned to rate your games according to each metric highlighted on the game's main jam page, and submit these ratings to the organisers, who will then appropriate what happens with that. Please contact them in the Q&A if you have any further questions about the judging process. The judges will work on different time schedules, so even if I may have finished playing your game, the entire process might not be finished as of yet. Many of these reviews I am posting while still judging.

All that aside, I'd like to share my VOD of me playing your game, which contains up to an hour of gameplay, and some final thoughts at the end! Depending on whether I stopped the VOD early or not, it will also contain many of the thoughts that I say to you below, which may cause repetition. So just be aware of that.

I will also attach a review below this VOD. I will not disclose my ratings for each category as of yet, but those will be revealed in due time. Not all judges are required to post a review or VOD to each game, but many will do so even if it's optional, including myself.

Here's the VOD:

This was quite a lighthearted game, and if there's any best thing about the game, it might be how random and cute it is? But there are some parts about it that drew me out of the experience. Namely, I think if there were a more solid throughline for me to glom onto - a set of characters that are going through conflicts that I care about - then maybe I'd feel more for the characters. The story concept is quite fun. The concept carries. Although, I do feel like NPCs could, while joking around, carry the central premise a little stronger. Marrying to the joke, so to speak. Nevertheless, it's a bit of a romp, and with better gameplay, could be more addicting.

Sadly, while battles are mercifully short and there are a good amount of them, there is no way to bring heroes back from the dead. No inn to speak of, and no items that revive characters. No free healing, either. Potions and healing items cost gold, but monsters do not drop gold. So the gameplay system is very limited and has ways to allow you to fall between the cracks. It could use improvement to make it more interesting. Battles also don't require much strategy. But the flow is fair enough between!

As for graphics, there are quite cute characters and tilesets with a bunch of character in them. A little sketchy around the edges, but generally it has the idea down, which matters the most. While the maps exist and are functional, sometimes the mapping is a little bare, and contains a few weird edges and strange architecture to the maps. Perhaps the biggest offender being the maze-like dungeons that didn't seem to have any function to me, or semblance to real life other than just being a maze for the player to traverse. I could be wrong there! Apologies if so. But it did seem like sometimes some of this was a bit too random for my tastes, and I would have liked to have been grounded in some more sane conflicts to ground me a bit.

However, there is a certain silly vibe to it that *does* work on occasion, and I do like the general flow between locations, so I think there is something to be worked from here and turned into something amazing in future. I think the developer has a lot of potential to make great and absurd games in future! And I would love to see them.

Keep making awesome games. Every game's a gift! Cheers and cheers <3

thanks for checking out the game and giving it a fair shot. there are a lot of meta jokes that both help and hinder the experience i am sure. glad it was silly enough to keep you going for a bit.

This is a sweet, straight forward rpg maker game. I quite like the character sprites and some of the portraits. I can't say I felt very engaged in the story and the humour didn't really do much for me. I feel like there are quite a few in-jokes that I didn't get. Even so, the dialogue is punchy and short enough not to overstay it's welcome. Congratulations on finishing the game!

It definitely has a lot of small references, so I totally get that. Thanks for playing and the feedback!

Glad I could be a small part in helping bring Sri Kandula's game to life! Had a very fun time playing through it and really enjoyed the humor.
