We had fun trying these guys last night! They seem very well-put-together. We had a couple thoughts and rules questions:

Is it possible to remove a barricade even when there's a piece on top? We know you can't remove a barricaded building, but can you battle the Ravagers to kill the barricade, then battle the formerly-barricaded building?

Their recruitment seemed a little on the strong side, as they can pretty easily get to 5 warriors per turn. However, now that I see they must be placed as evenly as possible, it seems less concerning - I know we played that wrong.

I liked the Salvage mechanic, and the way orders worked! It was neat to have a retinue/decree-like mechanism that changes every turn.

Overall, I think these guys are a very interesting faction. We had fun with them!

Developer

Yes, you can fight through the ravagers to destroy the barricade, and then attack whatever building or token was on top of the barricade...

In testing, actually because they are so spread out the recruiting has actually been a little on the weak side... Hoping to get a bunch more testing in and try and get these guys to a stabler place. But they have been a lot of fun to play so far!

Really like these guys, and I think there's a tok of polish put into them! The action economy idea in particular is spectacular, and you used this year's theme in a super convincing way!

I'm interested to see how their scoring interacts with their aggression towards other factions. In my experience when my factions points cared about other factions pieces, they usually didn't want to help remove said pieces. I'd still have to play with them to see!

Awesome submission and they seem reeeeal easy to pick up and play!

This faction is really interesting and there is a lot going on. I am having a little trouble wrapping my head around all of the faction-specific lingo but I think I will get it over time. I do like how the orders are not locked in and can change between turns. Some very cool ideas going on in this faction!

I like how you're double-dipping on the theme with the stacked buildings AND stacking the bag.

Developer

and stacking your odds on defense (kinda). We actually had you do 3 dice originally, but it was combersome to balance in the time allotted

Great use of theme - the randomization of the actions and stacking on the barricades. Your board and component quality is also stellar, I love those little frog warriors! I also like the river interaction and the way they spread themselves out around the map. Some rules clarifications: Are barricades buildings? Do they count towards rule? Can I battle them directly? Like let's say there's a Corvid plot on top are both buildings un-touchable outside the Ravager's turn?

Developer

They are buildings, but they are extra large, and have a slot on top of them. So they can be targeted as usual. But if they are destroyed with a building or token, then the building or token just drops back down.
