Wow this is a hard game (for me at least). Keeping track of the flying enemies while avoiding bombs and chasms. I like the player characters animation - it's pretty smooth and works good here.

I tried a few runs, but never got very far. Are there some upgrades or progressions for the main character?

You get upgrades starting with the second level, but it's nothing that stays between runs.

If you want to focus on platforming, the small drones leave the level once the boss appears.

My computer detected a trojan in the file. Sorry,  I can't play it.

If you have the itch.io app you can try to run it through there. Besides that, there's not much I can do except finally learn Godot.

What engine have you used to make the game?

Developer

Game Maker Studio 1.4. It being falsely flagged as a virus has a been an ongoing issue, and YoYo games is very much aware of it https://help.gamemaker.io/hc/en-us/articles/360031016592-What-to-do-if-your-game...

I had the same problem with Game Maker Studio 2 (actual gamemaker) in a Jam months ago. You must be sure to work always in the same hard drive when you have installed GM (C: as default) You need to open the project files and compile it always in the same unit. I hope this advice could be useful for next jams or if you can try it for this jam I will try it again.
