you freeze, and stare at the window. the world outside gets closer as you get closer. when you press your eyes against the glass, everything disappears.

your heart thuds and you blink. you slide the window open and hesitate for a moment, hovering your hand before that thick, wet prism, taunting you. it seems to ebb and flow as you blink.

you grit your teeth. you reach your hand ... forward ... and ...

you're somewhere else. leaned on a doorframe in a scribbled-black room with a floor and a ceiling, but no walls. facing you is another doorframe. inside that doorframe, another you.
