you thought you knew everything before you grew your wings. you would dart between the marble pillars and you'd giggle as you hiked your bag up on your shoulder and you'd look out on the horizon, where the rainclouds faded and the sunlight captured itself in a rainbow.

that was back then. you think you're different now.

some of that, you left behind. some of it you took with you. something's happened to you, a thing that has no name.

you climb up to the top of the tower. you're not as scared anymore. the sunlight looks different from up here. it's not the same kind of rain, not the same kind of sun. there might be a rainbow, but that might not be the same as it was back then, either.

you're less scared every day. from up here, you think you can see everything. but you know that you've only just begun to spread your wings...
