Orbs's itch.io pageHow does your game tie in with the theme?
The theme of "2010s Flash Game" is pretty abstract, so it was pretty difficult to think of a game concept that met this well, so I thought it best to take inspiration from some of my favourite Flash games, specifically for the enemy designs. The random geometry from Run and World's Hardest Game helped to cement my enemies as shapes, and the Orbs came soon after that. The idea of different colours representing strength also comes from the Bloons TD series. The Stretch goal of "Arcadey" is comparatively much easier to fit in, with the timer mechanic of the game. In the earlier days of the Game Jam (when my free time was more existent), I thought the player moved WAY too fast, but upon further testing, the fast pace of this game felt really good to play and that was what inevitably led me to making Orbs partially a speedrun game.
