Pixel's Game Jam #1
Welcome to Pixel's Game Jam #1!
An eight day game jam for you to test your mettle against other game developers and artists!
If you're here, then you were invited to the ✨exclusive✨ first jam with members from Magee and alumni of the Kippie server!

The theme is `2010's Flash Game` with the stretch goal `Arcadey`
What is a stretch goal? The stretch goal is an extra optional challenge you can undertake to make your game pop! In this case, a hi-score leaderboard would fit right in!
Rules
- Games must be made during the submission period. You are permitted to use your own templates, snippets of code, or assets created before the submission period (sparingly), but taking a nearly or already complete game and submitting it is not allowed. The majority of the actual game must be created within the submission period.
- You may use public and free assets (nothing that cost money). A player model/sprite, tileset, or texture here and there is permissible, but your game must contain at least 80% original assets. This does not apply to stock sound effects or music, though original music would be really cool :D.
- Don't be mean. We're all here to make games and push each other up. If you have nothing nice to say about someone's game, say nothing at all. Constructive criticism is great for growth, but if you're mean I will kick you in the balls. (Yes, even if you don't have any)
FAQ
- "What is a game jam?"
A game jam is an event where game devs get together to build a game (usually to a theme) in a limited amount of time. You've probably heard of the big jams like Ludum Dare, GMTK Game Jam, or the Brackeys Game Jam; this is the same! The theme is announced at the start of the jam, and teams (or solos) set off to make their game for submission. At the end of the submission period, submissions are usually rated by other participants, but this jam is unranked! - "Does 'xyz' count as a game?"
If it's interactive, then yes! It can be a visual novel, a board game design, or a first person action/adventure shooter, anything can be a game! - "What if I don't know how to make a game?"
That's okay! You can submit a design document or game idea page if you want. You don't have to code anything! - "Does my game have to be pixel art?"
Not at all! Pixel (that's me!) is just my online username. Your game can be pixel art, 3D, photographed traditional art, or whatever you want!
