Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous and shown in a random order.

  • didn't hit the mark on both themes for me, but I really think you have something good going here, and that you should continue to develop this game :)
  • I wasn't sure where to go right outside the gate. Not exactly sure what I missed. Regardless, having some markers on where and what to do in the beginning will be helpful to the player experience. I really liked the world you built with the awesome sprites and sound design.

Did you include your Game Design Document as a Google Drive link?
Yes

Seriously... did you include your Game Design Document?
Yes

Is your game set to Public so we can see it?
Yes

Tell us about your game!
Controls are standard RPG Maker - Arrow keys for movement, ESC for exit/cancel, Enter for OK/select. The mechanics involve talking to NPCs and going through dialogue routes with them to further the story as well as offer them the food they may want. They hint at what food they want through their dialogue, so it's up to you to craft what they want to help them get through their day or situation. At the end of the day, you close up shop and go to bed to greet a new morning.

Extra Notes
There is a minor bug where crafting does not give feedback upon crafting the item you select. We're working on it and hope to have it patched ASAP. Some personal issues tried to stop us from making this, but we managed!
The story may also feel a smidge brief due to the time issues we encountered, but we hope you enjoy it regardless. Thank you for your time and for hosting this Jam.
(I would also like to note that Damenshi is not in the official Discord server due to extreme anxiety, but he'll be lurking on our official account.)

Nice comforting story. :)

I think for the time given in this game jam, this game was short and sweet. The music matched the comforting feeling the shop gives off and the sprite work was clean and gave off a nostalgic retro feeling. Hope you got that feedback bug patched!
