Azar is a slot inspired rogue like, deck builder, strategy, simulation short game based in a dystopian/meta narrative.
We took inspiration in a current social problem that exists in our country, Brazil, where international gambling companies exploit our weak law definitions on gambling addiction, and the many social issues we’ve been facing.
This game is a meta horror as critique on the gambling issues we’ve seen, as an interpretation brought to life in a dystopian world we created.
Extra Notes
This game conveys a short narrative, where the players will interact with a sentient slot machine and unravel its mystery while getting deeper into the “machine state” gambling games stimulate.
Along the game, the player will be fed gambling facts by a sentient slot machine, inviting them to better understand the reality behind gambling games in real life.

LOVE THE CRT FILTER! The color palette is also phenomenal. But now I just feel guilty after playing...
Stunning visuals, amazing soundtrack and a great reflection about game addiction as well. Absolutely has a blast, 10/10. Hoping to see all the potential of this game showed in the GDD one day!
"Oh cool, a slots game in the pirate jam, let's check it out"
"The machine talks to me while I play, kinda cool"
"Spin me instead? Haha, funny"
"Thats... a dark statistic..."
"Damn, dude in the machine is not alright"
"Oh no... maybe i'm the problem?"
10/10 made me think about real life issues.
Great, clean, intriguing, compelling work. Nice job!
