  • While the directional controls and the selection to choose whatever color or colors you want to create whatever effects they have, I didn't really find what was presented to be all that compelling. I was curious based on the description included about them, wanting to see what it would tie into, but what I got, in my opinion, wasn't a lot to work on in how it ties back to the themes. While one could say that the combination of the colors to present something interesting (in how the player is affected or so) could be a form of alchemy, I don't really see where shadow fits into anything here. Artistically speaking, all I can say here is that while the color scheme chosen was nice to look at while playing around with the controls to understand what you were presenting, my mind thinks of what was shown as just shapes (which isn't a bad thing, just what was seen). I'd like to see more of how the colors were to be incorporated into the themes, and what their effects would actually do in practice rather than just on paper (your description). Do keep up the hard work.
  • Very cool alchemy system. A little rough on the shadow portion of the theme requirements for this Jam. controls seem smooth and good throwing animation.

Tell us about your game!
You mix colors to create different potions which have different effects, you can drink them and throw them to help you or to attack enemies,

1,2,3 for RED, YELLOW, BLUE (IN ORDER)
Q TO CONFIM/MIX POTION
RMB TO THROW POTION
LMB TO DRINK POTION
POTION INFO ON GDD AND IN DESCRIPTION OF GAME PAGE

GDD HERE OR ON GAME PAGE

Extra Notes
I didn't quite finish the game in time, so there is just a little demo scene where you can run around, burn the crates using RED potion + Q to mix, and then RMB to through, and a wall you can only go through by using RED + BLUE, Q, LMB to teleport through it. GDD Isn't very detailed cause I came up with stuff on the spot, and the game is just a demo scene.

There is not really much to give feedback for but i like the attempt at creating an interesting alchemy/magic system, kinda reminds me of the one in the magicka games.

Would recommend making sure you have a proper GDD, as the current one does not give much usefull information.
(there is the example one found on https://itch.io/jam/pirate )

We some extra elbow grease you could make this into something fun, keep it up :)

Magicka was actually one of my main inspirations along with Void Collector, I didn't put much effort into my GDD cause I only worked on it for like 5 days and just wanted to make a working game during the time I had rather than just planning.

I think you have a good base to some fun gameplay. Would love to hear what your plans are for the future if you are continuing to work on this. Nice job!

I'm pretty much gonna overhaul the entire game in terms of visuals/style, and atmosphere

I was stuck in the tutorial room for a bit until someone in chat mentioned that is numbers -> Q -> click to use the potions. I understand the mechanic, but a bit of explanation may help out!

Sorry, I forgot to include them on the main page.
