  • To start with the art and animation, I'd have to say these were done quite well; the characters and enemies looked interesting, and I was curious to see what other ideas you came up with (in regards to the enemies). While I enjoyed this aspect of your game, I wouldn't say what else was presented stood out much to me during my time. For the controls, while movement was simple to follow, when it came to combat, there wasn't much to really do. I tried the alchemy option--nothing worked (and I see there was quite a pool of things to choose from there). For regular attacks, the command worked, and so did the animation, but when it came to any damage dealt, nothing occurred--nor did it when the enemies had their turn. I'd assume this wasn't fully done, so I'd like to see what things would look like when the combat is finished/fully working. As for the themes, the description of your game was interesting, leading me to try and comprehend how you would incorporate both themes as a result. Sadly, I didn't have much to work with, so I cannot fully express my thoughts based on gameplay. I'm just interested to see everything get expanded upon so I can grasp how you planned to incorporate everything in a cohesive way. All in all, keep up the good work.
  • I liked the turn-based idea. I really would have liked to see how the combining section for attacks worked. Not sure if health deduction was supposed to work, or if it was just to show case the idea for the combat, but I couldn't beat the first monsters. Otherwise, cool concept and something I'd love to see more of!

The Shadowrealm lurks just beneath the surface of our reality, waiting for any opportunity to break through the thin barrier between the two worlds and unleash the monsters that inhabit it. Humanity's only weapon in the fight against shadow creatures are Alchemists - heroes who are ready to sacrifice a part of their humanity to brew and drink potions that allow them to tame the power of shadows and use it to fight.
The Alchemists' Guild received news that a gate to the Shadowrealm had opened in Isonmore, a small, peaceful city. No one knows whether it was created spontaneously or someone opened it on purpose, but it doesn't really matter. Your task is simple - go to Isonmore, eliminate the shadows there and close the gate.

Controls are WASD + arrows + spacebar/return or controller.

Extra Notes
Technically I would consider this more of a barely working and incomplete tech demo rather than a game - web export limitations meant we had to pivot with the style a bit and a couple of bugs took the majority of the time to fix.

This is such a cool idea for a turn based game. I aesthetic is really nice.

I really wish the combine of Alchemy worked seeing the screen made me very excited before reading  that it was currently broken.

web export can be a pain I understand you fully.

Cheers, hope to see you next Game Jam.
