Summarise your game!
Defend humanity is a very rushed arcade space shooter. The player ship is controlled by moving the mouse. Shooting is possible by pressing the left mouse button. The spawn rate of the enemies steadily increases every time the score reaches a number divisible by 70. After the fifth increase, the maximum spawn rate is reached.
Please explain how your game fits the theme:
The player is a jet fighter in space, a literal weapon.

Is there a concept behind the aiming, like how to figure out whether you would currently hit or not? I feel like the two crosshairs did not realy help with that. Maybe it should have like a laser pointing at where your shots would land instead.
Also the game appears to be quite laggy without much happning.
Thanks for the feedback. That is basically the same critisism that I received from friends that tried the game. Since I asked them to play it on the day I had to submit, I couldn‘t really revise the system. You do get used to it after a while, which is probably why I didn’t think it was an issue during development. If I ever pick up development again, the first thing I would do is, revise the aiming system completely. In the future, I‘ll ask people to test my game earlier, so lesson learned.
Is the lag you are experiencing consistently there, or is it just a big lag spike for the first few seconds and then it smooths out? Me and my friends did also experience the big lag spike at the beginning, but later it smoothed out. This only happens in the web export for some reason.
Yes, it was only lagging in the beginning.
