Tell us about your game!
The game is a turn-based top-down third-person strategy game where the objective is to reach the camp before the infection spreading between the humans can reach GARTH, the robot you're piloting, and turn him into a rusty pile of trash. GARTH has four tools at his disposal which he can use between turns: a hammer to kill infected people, a scissor to remove the infection and cure them of the condition, a looking glass to inspect nearby people to check for the infected condition before it is visible to the player in the form of the tendril growths that pop out of their heads, and a bear trap that can be placed on the ground and triggered when a unit moves to its location. The controls are left click on the mouse to move GARTH one space in any direction and number keys 1-4 to use items.

Extra Notes
Participating in the game jam was a blast! Our team had a unique challenge of each member being a citizen of a different country. One American, one Egyptian, one Ukranian, one Scandinavian, and one from and unspecified Asian country. Trying to coordinate work on the game between 3-4 different time zones presented certain challenges, but we were able to work around them.

An interesting submission to the jam. The assets were well made and the music was pretty good. The gameplay worked well once I could figure out what to do.

My main issue lies with how confusing it is to figure out what to do, I had to try a lot of things to realise what a few of the tools did, and I still couldn't figure out what the hammer did. Also you sort of just die and you have no way of knowing why, you sort of just have to guess that the enemy moved onto your tile, but you also have no indication of how the enemies move which would be nice for figuring out how to strategize getting to the end.

Congrats on getting a finished game done in two weeks though!

Very fair criticism of our project. I think if we had more time were would have incorporated more instructions or a tutorial to address those concerns. The people seem like they move randomly, but the ones who are infected are programmed to move to targets that haven't been infected yet.

Thank you so much, we really missed that here we even added the 1,2,3,4 to use item at the very last day
It's something we didn't do very well at all "Exposing the mechanics to the player" ,and having some indicator to the infection spreading maybe the infection starts growing gradually in a small cut scene for each person that gets infected.
Thanks a lot I really learned something from that
