poetic and heartbreaking writing, and such cool use of the UI as well. Loved the touches of voice acting, and beautiful illustrations.
I really liked what this game was trying to do with its awkward but sincere introduction to anti-capitalism integrated with a monster smashing game. Honestly, I wouldn't have stuck with it for as long as I did without that, because that self-awareness of the contradictions of the genres and medium it sits in went a long way to keep me interested (can you tell I don't normally have much interest in monster smashing?), and felt like a good call-back to the original Godzilla, which was after all an anti-nuclear questioning of scientific ethics (or lack thereof).
Gameplay wise, I think if you like QWOP type controls, it will be great. Even with assists, though, it's pretty rough for me due to disability. I stuck it out for 2 of the 5 acts, and if I was less interested in the narrative, creative mode probably would have been a fantastic solution. I did really enjoy trying to mutate my titans into mighty beasts, even if it was soul-crushing to know what happened to them after every mission. None of this was their fault!
